Dallas Area

The “Oil Bidness” & J.R.Ewing call Dallas home but round these parts, she’s just known as “Big D”.  Dallas is a sprawling, diverse city with lots to offer all around, but most folks head downtown for a first stop at the site of the JFK assassination, brushing up on new conspiracy theories and peering out of “the assassins window” in the Sixth Floor Museum, and then head on up to the top of The Ball - Reunion Tower. - where, on a clear day, you’ll see purt-near to Fort Worth. Head up north to the George Bush Presidential Library for an interactive experience with 9-11, the war on terror, and the Decision Points Theater. Art, music, history, and aviation come alive at multiple sites all over Dallas and it’s all yours for the taking.

Fort Worth Area

Git yer spurs on and head on over to "Where the West Begins"!   Fort Worth is as different from Dallas as jalapeno peppers are from Blue Bell ice cream. Known locally as "Cowtown", Fort Worth is filled with history, high-quality museums of all varieties and all kinds of Texas fun.  Mosey on down to the historic Stockyards for an up-close & personal visit with our herd of Texas Longhorns during the twice-daily cattle drive down Exchange Ave.  Roam the streets where Butch Cassidy made history and hang out at Sundance Square, home of the 3-story Chisholm Trail Mural. Saddle up for the championship rodeo every Fri & Sat nights, ride the mechanical bull at “The World’s Largest Honky-Tonk” and chow down on a Texas-sized steak at Loneseome Dove or the H3 Ranch restaurant. Find your "Fort Worth state of mind" and you’ll go home with a new western swagger and can honestly claim,“This ain’t my first rodeo”!

"Down the Road A Piece" ... But Worth the Drive!

Some folks might think it’s a bit too fur, but if you’ll hitch up your buggy, there’s a whole lot more to experience down the road a piece. Miss Ellie’s a waitin’ for your visit to South Fork, where she’ll cook up lunch in her deli or a chuckwagon supper for you and your friends after your tour of the ranch. Stop by the Dallas Cowboys Star Center on the way home, or race on out to the Texas Motor Speedway for a tour or a drive. Stir some memories at the National Vietnam War Museum, paying respects at the replica Wall, exploring the military vehicles on display, including a Huey with quite a historic past. Visit the Medal of Honor Park, a serene & peaceful monument dedicated  to vets who earned our nation’s highest military honor and learn their stories of extraordinary heroism. Got a hankering to wander further?  Magnolia Market, home to Chip & Joanna Gaines, is 2 hrs
south in Waco.
